It may be useful for larger projects.

Posted to Ask: What fonts can be used when designing IOS apps?, Sep 29, 2013 If you have the appropriate license you can include a font in your app bundle, so there is pretty much unlimited options.
Most font foundries offer an iOS license, if not, contact them and ask if you are allowed to do so
