This is a great feature! However at first I thought the cmd button would obscure the contents of your mailbox... perhaps for privacy... haha.

After using both the old and the new app, I have to congratulate you and your team for figuring out a way to scrub through a track that doesn't make me want to blow my brains out.

Thank you so much. I really love the app.

This is a great read. I'm not an interface designer (but it's on my periphery) and I will forward to some colleagues who are more geared for this type of work.

Go to Printed Matter (195 10th Ave) and Picture Room/McNally Jackson (right next door to each other, 236 Mulberry).

    Both have cool artist books/prints/etc.

AIGA space on 5th ave has an excellent Dan Friedman exhibit, might close around 5-6pm on weekdays, probably closed on weekends.

  • Posted to What do you listen to while working on UI ?, Sep 12, 2014

I don't specifically work on UI, but I love finding new music on Soundcloud. I made an account and repost/like things so I can get back to them later. Best part of this site is the music always keeps playing, and there are no commercials.

https://soundcloud.com/joshpindjak It's mostly hip hop, house, electronic, R&B, beats, etc.

I'll also throw on a podcast every now and then. My favorite: Your Dreams My Nightmares (Sam Weber interviews artists, illustrators and designers), This American Life (duh) and Radiolab (depending on the topic).

  • Posted to Ask DN: What advice would you give to someone coming out of a design bootcamp?, Jul 31, 2014

I just graduated this past May; here's a few things I've heard recently:

1 Always be on time. If you're late, just keep walking until you're in Canada.

2 Apply for a job for which you feel under-qualified. If you're scared as hell, you're doing it right. "If you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room."

3 If nothing else, learn to properly set a block of text. If you've ever picked up a poorly designed book, you know what I'm talking about. Clean typography will never be out of style.

4 Have a hobby on the side. Doesn't have to be design/art related. In fact, it probably shouldn't be. People in job interviews ask me about this kind of stuff. Just be a normal, cool person.

5 If you aren't getting calls back, look at your portfolio vs. the portfolios of your peers. A good portfolio is expected. That's what gets you in the door/emailed back. Your personality gets you the job.
