I don't think they're inherently bad, but looking at the iPhone 8 or Google Pixel, the bezels are making the phones larger, and therefore harder to hold, pocket, use, etc, without adding utility (e.g., screen real estate). That said, making the the iPhone X bezel a little bigger to prevent the notch issue would have been fine imo. I also think what Samsung has done is just gimmicky — the curves on the edge display create a lot of glare, and it's easy to accidentally tap things with fingers that are merely holding the phone.
Agree it shouldn't exist, but let's assume all the sensors and cameras in the notch were requirements, and they had to be clustered together in that manner. The alternative would be a larger bezel. But by making the status bar black, the notch and status bar are essentially a "smart" bezel — it can dynamically display useful information without eating into the rest of the screen. Would a normal bezel be better?
Thank you!
Can you talk about your infrastructure a bit? Security, data storage, redundancy, etc...

Suffers from the same issue as many such cradles — you can't use the device while it's in the cradle because the front lip blocks system nav, home button, etc.
