Since forestry updates the git repository directly, you can use it to edit content, but let something else handle the deployment. I do just that with forestry and Netlify

  • Posted to Zulu - an environment manager for ZSH, Jan 31, 2017

Hi DN! I created Zulu as I wanted an easy way to manage my ZSH environment without having to delve into a shell script every time I wanted to make a simple change. Zulu lets you install from a curated (and growing!) list of packages and themes, manage $path, $fpath and $cdpath, and create aliases, all with simple commands, and without having to restart the shell session. User functions and environment variables will be manageable too in an upcoming release. Please try it out, and feel free to leave any feedback, good or bad, to help me improve the project. Thanks for looking!

Logged in with it, but I didn't have any subscriptions at that point as I haven't really used them before now. They're much more intuitive in Beam than in Alien Blue though, so I will be using them from now on.

I've worked that out now, but it didn't appear there until I added some subscriptions - otherwise that whole screen was just one big empty state telling me to add subscriptions, with no way of getting to the front page without adding any, hence why I thought it wasn't there. Spent a while looking before I worked it out too.

Nice app, great for browsing, but where's the front page? Arguably the most important feature and it's missing.

Not sure what to make of this. In this picture it's really reflective and actually looks really classy. I like it. But the website just flattens everything that's good about the logo and makes it look really dull. Nice idea, but poorly executed.

The scary thing is, you're actually right.

I totally agree, and ditched Adobe myself over a year ago for exactly that reason. But Adobe is a household name, and has a reputation (however untruthful) of being the best in the business. It would be hard to persuade a company which produces it's entire output in Adobe software to shell out money for something which provides identical functionality based on speed alone. With that in mind I can't see other products eating into Adobe's market share any time soon.
