God fucking damn that is some great portrait photography. That Tilda Swinton shot is fantastic.

I appreciate how easy the site is to navigate and it isn't a run of the mill photographer's site.

    Beautiful work.

"Simple and significant" as Don Draper would say

Amazing photography. Reduced design supports that.

Impeccable work—site does its job for the medium and does it well. 10/10. The site alone, however, feels like a cargo or format theme. Doesn't matter either way. Excellent showcasing.

I agree the site and work are great, which theme does it feel like? I haven't seen that much animation on a cargo or format theme before.

No theme in particular, just that I wouldn't doubt if you could find and modify one to look similar to it (not saying it is a theme, looks custom from glancing at the code). It has the traditional artist/agency minimal aesthetic. I dig it. Also, both sites have animated themes, not much but certainly some. Mainly thinking of the new Cargo 2 editor (which is pretty awesome).

Did you build it? Nice work if so!

fantastic photography, the website isn't in my opinion. It really looks like so many other websites that try to be fancy by being more minimal, but end up being cookie cutter. Whereas the imagery has opinion in every shot, the rest of the design has no identity whatsoever, that's a big miss for me. A website is an opportunity to provide all kinds of users with the possibility to get to know your brand your vision, your whatever. But opinions differ of course. You could argue that this type of interface shifts the focus on the photos, but I don't think that's true either.

I'm going to agree with you here and add that the UI actually sticks out far too much to let the photos do the talking. It's far too brutalist to of a UI to recede to the background. Great UX concept, poor execution with UI.
