Bleh, symbol overrides have to be based on existing layer or text styles. This would be fine if making layer and text styles in Sketch wasn't so miserable. In Figma you can override parts of a component with whatever you want, AND making new Fill/Stroke/Text/Whatever styles is far easier.

Dark mode seems to be limited to Mojave...bad news for those of us in larger product companies where macOS updates are slow to roll out! ☹️

Of course it's limited to Mojave – it's built upon native technology that comes with it. Otherwise there would be no dark mode.

Doesn't matter honestly. Their license models allows you to get 1 year of updates, but you can always keep using your last version. If you buy Sketch 52 you'll get the free update, and any other update for a full year.

No need to spend money if you just want to try things. Try Figma. It's free, works in a web browser, and is constantly being improved. You won't be disappointed.

Interesting. Midnight can no longer be used to desaturate icons though.
