Did Panda stop working for anyone else on Chrome?

5 years ago from , Product Designer @ SoundHound

I've been getting the "Panda is out of bamboos, working hard to get more, will be back right with you soon!" message for about the last week. Seems to work on Safari though...Wondering if it might be an issue with my office network settings or something?

Unfortunately our api endpoints has been added to adblock's list. Our news api and ads api were using the same endpoints. Panda chrome extension still works without getting blocked, but the web app got affected. Right now we are working on a quick fix.

Anyone got an idea who is preparing these lists and how to whitelist your domains? It's really disturbing that adblock could ruin your product's experience.

The most popular filter list is easylist, so it's likely your api endpoint got added to that one. You can report incorrectly blocked content here, but since the endpoint is also used for ads I doubt they would be willing to unblock it.

Wow! i don't know that app, pretty much every site i open everyday is here. Thanks! Also, when you disabled the adblock for the url works just fine.

Yea.... Lately, I have a lot of problems too. I also wrote them on Twitter, but I think their account is just a bot that posts the latest news and articles. Random signouts, trouble connecting to my account and so on.... But for the last week I think I didn't encounter any problem... maybe they work on a fix or something.

    Pandas shit.

It works maybe 2/3 times for me on opening a new tab, which in a workday is a lot of broken tabs that just show either white, or the vanilla google search page. Bleh.

At least three or four times I day I get the 'out of bamboos hurr hurr' error.

It constantly duplicates articles as you scroll down a feed. I see this more in the HackerNews feed, but DN does it too quite often.

Often it doesn't refresh it's cache, which really isn't a big deal. I nuke my cache so often that it rarely worries me.

I honestly don't know why I haven't searched out a different launch plugin. Actually, I know why, and that's because I'm lazy as hell, but still.
