I highly recommend trying Figma. Once you've tried a tool that does UX, Prototyping, and Dev Hand off, it's hard to go back to using multiple apps.

With fixed UI elements, there's no reason to use Invision anymore for prototyping.

Wow I wasn't expecting Fixed/scrollable objects to be a part of styles release. This is incredible.

Figma's been killing it lately. I love their weeklong sprints and getting "Figma Wednesdays" with new updates and bug fixes. The community is pretty vibrant too over on Spectrum.chat.

Is offline support a feature on the roadmap or is it not possible given the nature of the platform? I noticed I can export a .fig file but no way to open said file? Is it just meant for local backups?...

This is literally the only thing I'm waiting for before a full switch. Please make this happen

Right now a full offline mode including opening or importing files is not supported.

If you're just looking at offline sessions like in the train or the airplane, open the file beforehand. Then you can edit this file offline.

There is some more information here: https://help.figma.com/faqs/offline-mode

I didn't know this was possible, thanks! I'm not sure i can trust myself to remember the last step.. but it's awesome I can do this :)

So tempted with all the Figma hype to try it out again. I've tried it ages ago and just really didn't feel like moving away from Sketch at the time.

HUGE UPDATE... we were just about to leave FIGMA too because of the lack of a quality prototyping tool.

Gratz Figma! Finally somebody did the style management as it should be done. All the time it was crystal clear what we need from a user point of view. I just wonder why it took so long for all this "new" UI/UX tools to come up with a right solution. The way Sketch is trying to tackle this problem feels really inconsistent. I feel overall lack of vision/big picture in the development of their product recently.

Still Sketch user for this reasons: (most prio top)

    • layers/groups organization from simple third-party plugins "Rename It" and "Sort it" and symbol "Distributor"

    • loading time when opening a project

    • offline mode (I understand it's easier to be in the cloud for licensing purposes)

    • export to simple animation tools like invision studio/kite/anima and others

    But I'm looking at you Figma team and switching my workflow is more and more tempting (o;

Btw (option for managing rounded corners globally restricted for "only all corners of shape" for easier implementation would be nice too)

    Good work

Whoaaa, nice! It's getting harder and harder for me to pick between Figma, Studio, Sketch, and XD anymore.

Sketch 51 has fixed elements for prototypes, too. Plus some other goodies. I tried Figma for a project, but I'm so used to Sketch (and have minimal complaints) that it's really hard to justify a switch.

My dream app would be Sketch + Principle + Webflow combined. That would be the ultimate combination. Mockup in Sketch, add interactions a la Principle, then export good quality code like Webflow. Can these companies just merge please?

We have this on our roadmap, but it will just take time to get there. PDF is not as easy of an export as SVG or PNG.

There is an extension that uses our read api but I haven't tested it in detail. https://figma-pdf.gweltaz-calori.com/

      Hope that helps. :)

Why would you even export UI in PDF format? PDF is for printing purposes. I don't think it's a need for a designer. It's only 'want' thing.

Because iOS uses PDF assets. At least the engineers I work with use them.

Robin, I also love designing presentations in Figma, and sometimes you need a nice, crisp PDF. Exporting not-so-sharp JPG/PNG's and then making them a pdf isn't ideal.

Actually, this would be good/great/amazing. Having to resync design in a .ppt/.pdf every time a PM decides last minute to add a new feature is a pain. Would love to create a presentation in Figma that I can share using the latest design.

iOS assets can be delivered in PDF format. For iOS devs, it's a great format to use
