Hi, everybody!
I think most of the people, especially designers, want to have a community for sharing and discussing their works, get feedback, ask questions, answer the questions. And I'm one of such people too. I'm looking for design communities and I will be thankful anybody who shares a community wherever it is: telegram, discord, slack or somewhere else.

We're a community of designers from all disciplines that talk shop, critique work, post jobs, and all other kinds of craziness. We're hanging out on Slack all week long, but also do meetups too! I'm biased, but damn I miss Forrst.
OMG! I loved Forrst in the beginning. That was pretty much were I spent my nights commenting and giving feedback to other users. After Kyle Bragger left the company, it started going downhill. Too bad.
I am not sure if this answers the question or further stokes conversation....but what about AIGA? Personally, I am no longer part of my local chapter, but I hear other chapters are much more active and inclusive.

Cool. I am a past president of my local chapter. I have mixed feelings about AIGA...in theory, AIGA would be a great organization...in practice, I haven't seen many people who are selfless enough to truly put a community before their own needs.
I have to agree. It's tough to focus on the community, but we have done better about this on the national level. There always the members and then the community. When it should be the community, who have members that want a little bit more from AiGA.
Design communities don't work
why do you think so?
Because of designers and their personality traits and things they do/don't value. We are selfish, don't want to share resources and we easily jump to judge everything. People tried to build communities but never really succeeded, we would have tons of them by now.
Seems like the only way feedback + growth + questions + friendship type design communities work is if you create your own with a few like-minded people. Sort of like a Mastermind Group but less formal. A slack channel could be all that's needed.

This is actually very interesting point. I've joined several design groups and development groups on Facebook, and it's strange that design groups are always very quite regardless of the number of members, whereas dev groups are usually very active. hmm..
By this thread you can see they work, just look at the number of members. However agree it may work quite differently, designers are more effective in small groups and safe environment. What may work here is interconnected local groups of people, but didn't found any platform for that.
It works when designers need a medium to complain about something, that's another thing. Sketch threads where people bash the software for its bugs are usually the most active, yes.
