AMA: All About Sharing in Adobe XD

over 5 years ago from , Design Marketing, UI/UX @ Adobe

Note: For those of you adding questions or comments after 5pm PDT, we will respond during the following workday (most of our team is based in San Francisco). Thanks and have a good day or night!

Hey everyone,

We’re excited to join you for another AMA. Last week we released an update for Adobe XD that delivers improved Photoshop import, password protected prototypes, filters for searching the Assets panel, and finding/highlighting assets on the canvas.

Today we’re excited to talk about the future of sharing in XD. High on the list is to deliver password protected Design Specs, inviting specific users to view prototypes, commenting improvements, and more. As the team makes progress towards these enhancements, we want to hear from you.

He’re a few of the top requests that we have heard from the community:

Are these the most important areas around sharing for you? Is there anything missing, or what else do you want to see related to sharing? Our team is here from now to 2pm PDT to chat and answer your questions. Let us know what you think!

Our goal is to build the best solution for UX design with your feedback. Stay in touch with us on Twitter, Facebook, or UserVoice, and check out what other designers have created with XD.

Cheers, Kyle

Hi Andrew, yes, the team is still targeting early summer for delivering this functionality; however, it is an estimate and subject to change.

Also one more game-breaking issue that I feel needs your 100% focus

Why is XD the only one with rounded corners... AAAARRRGGGHHH

Another +1 for Fixed Elements (Basically essential for all our digital project prototypes) and scrolling elements such as Horizontal scrolling image galleries/cards.

I think this applies to desktop wireframes/mockups mostly :

The "desktop preview" should fill the screen and be 100% rather than the artboard resizing to fit the preview window if that makes sense?

Sometimes I dont want to have to set an option in the 'scrolling' drop down.

Hi Simon, thank you for the feedback! I did not see a specific request in uservoice, though I encourage you to add one here. Also, this might help; we recently added a feature so that you can adjust the Viewport Height directly on an artboard. You can see more about it here.

Yes I have the latest version with that, just would be nice to not have to set it and be native to the screen I'm working on :) Thanks for the reply

Adding on to the fixed elements request, are you guys working on features/functions for horizontal scrolling?

Hi Sean, horizontal scrolling is on the roadmap. If you haven't already, I would upvote this feature here. Would you mind sharing a bit more about the types of projects where you want to show horizontal scrolling?
