Interested to see where it goes. Went in and started some discussions around the ideas :)

This is seriously one of the coolest ideas I've seen all year. The money-making aspect is awesome... but more importantly it seems like a great way to easily discover and work on projects that excite you!! Two thumbs up.

Wow! Nice find. Still a bit confused at how work is delegated between so many people though.

Chris from Assembly here. We think it'll work a bit like GitHub: work will be openly allocated. You work on the stuff you want to work on. But it's actually a really interesting issue. I think of crowd contributions a like a big amorphous blob and it's our job just to occasionally focus it on goals.

We've been building some really nice real-time tools to make sure people don't duplicate too much work. We're also working with a few really talented designers to help build out design sharing stuff too (more on that soon).

Seems very interesting. I'm curious how design will play into the whole thing. Great UX & UI obviously can't just be executed at leisure and in a silo the same way that code can be committed to Github. The relationship between design & development will definitely make or break the chances of these products being successful.

A fascinating idea. I'm going to keep an eye on this. I'm intrigued as to how they work out what costs get included before the "net proceeds" are calculated, because that looks like an area of potential disagreement.

Those startup intro videos have become so cliché that you can't even tell the difference between real ones and parodies anymore…
