Hey, I'm the developer / designer of Name That Blue. If you've got any questions, I'll try my best to answer them. Cheers!
Fun game. Would have been nice to have an end though, so we could brag on DN like the nerd champions that we are.
I'm considering different game modes that do have an 'end'. Your thoughts will definitely influence the direction I take it. I'm all ears!
I agree, and end would be nice. I got kinda bored around 17/20 and gave up at 22/25. (See what I did their? helpful feedback & showing off my scores. I'm especially proud since I'm colorblind and blues and purples are often hard to distinguish.)
I'd suggest capping it somewhere like 20-25 and clearly showing the user which they are on question "17 of 25" then, at the end, show the score and allow them to tweet about it. People love to shared their #nerdCred.
I'd also like to make one more suggestion: I didn't mind that companies / colors repeated, but perhaps make sure they don't repeat in adjacent rounds. I had like 4 rounds in a row where the color and correct answer were persistent. It almost felt like cheating since I knew instantly that it was the same answer each time.
Thanks so much for taking the time to give feedback. I'm convinced now that an 'end' is ideal, maybe even the default mode, with 'endless' as an option.
I'm working more on how the choices are selected to stop duplication. Lots to do!
Where's the Designer News color ;)
Nice job! I agree with the other guys here, you should have and end!
Dat hamburger button.
It's the part I'm most proud of!
Well, this game just pretty much consumed my night. Why did I just play like 200 + rounds?
I think you need to go to Bluers Anonymous
Fun - it's just too bad some names repeat.
Brilliant
This is awesome, and a whole lot of fun. Went 9/10 :)
Screw ends. I loved it endless. Leave the people wanting. Loved it.
Does it go on forever? I got through like 20 or so but it seems like it never ends, hah
It is (somewhat cruelly) a never-ending game. I just read a tweet from someone saying they'd played 100 rounds (scoring a respectable 71). Even I don't have that amount of willpower.
