Nice colours
I see what you did there...
Dude you have a catch phrase.
HOW DARE YOU STEAL MY CATCHPHRASE! ;)
The designers with high follower counts aren't realizing the effect they have on Dribbble, aside from that "they made dribbble what it is"
When a designer is getting a large percentage of the inquiries, there is no way they can respond/do the work/refer/etc for all of the inquiries. It's not possible.
Then, this makes Dribbble look bad, like a place where look-but-don't-touch is par for companies looking for designers. Send out inquiries to the first 20-30 designers they see - no/few replies == Dribbble sucks.
This makes the landscape more competitive and fulfills company-seeking-designer needs.
If all of your eggs are in one business development basket - you are really really bad at business.
devil's advocate: it's actually good that designers with the most followers aren't necessarily the first search results.
I don't think that is the main point that most designers have had an issue with Scout. The fact that no matter how popular you are, you are hidden behind a paywall, before anyone can discover you (unless they pay the $199 a month).
oh, no doubt. the paywall is a giant turd. (although Pro members can still search designers for $3/mo without the new "Scout" features, which is totally reasonable.)
i was just responding to the complaints in the comments that he read off, and those in the Dribbble shot. a ton of the complaints center around sorting logic and not being top dog anymore.
(although Pro members can still search designers for $3/mo without the new "Scout" features, which is totally reasonable.)
are you sure about that? I think they removed this feature. otherwise why would anyone want to pay $2400/y for scout? getting a dribbble invitation is easier.
good question. as far as i can tell, the only search feature that i don't have as a Pro member is "Advanced Search" (compensation, skill level, etc.)
i can search, message, and add designers to lists as normal.
Existing Pros are grandfathered to basic access to Scout for free for life (as long as they don’t cancel their subscription). This means existing Pros retain the ability to search for and message designers. Teams will also have basic access to Scout until their annual subscription expires. New Pro and Team subscribers won’t have access to Scout without a subscription.
lol this is awful
Couldn't agree more, those people made it to the top with flashy gifs and got all the attention / requests.
