Beautiful site, but I feel like there is so much motion that it hurts usability.

Good job Satya.. Really a nice idea, worth every dollar.. I will ask my team to have a look and see if we can use it in any of our projects.

( PS pl try to avoid scroll-jacking, it's so annoying and unpopular in design community.)

Hello V.M. Let me know if your team have any questions or need support. Will be happy to help.

And yes, we'd certainly improve the usability of the website. Thanks for the feedback.

Ultimate combo: scroll hijacking + fancy long animations :-/

Btw. For renting fonts I prefer https://fontstand.com/ more.

      Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

If you were to rent the entire library of Fontstand you'd pay more than $30K a month. Fontstore gives you access to the entire library for mere $15/month. There’s no comparison.

      Best, Satya

This doesn't really seem like a sensible thing to compare. Who rents an entire font library for an extended period of time? Fontstand gives you the chance to try out the fonts before you decide to rent them in any case.

You're right that there's no comparison because this is a senseless thing to try and compare.

These are two different services with completely different distribution models, that's why I said there is NO comparison at all.

Immediately closed because of scroll jacking. It's unusable.

Beautiful site indeed, but the service is not very competitive. Fonts.com offers a subscription with 2200 fonts for $10/m. They also offer free trials of every font and a one stop shop for fonts not in their subscriptions. Adobe's TypeKit has a similar offering.

How will your 75 fonts compete with this? It also doesn't help that you ask people to pay without specifying anywhere what the fonts are, leading me to question whether you have quality fonts or not.

We're not here to compete with anyone. It's a new service with our own fonts. All the introductory fonts in the library are all new and exclusive to Fontstore. And the subscription offering is only for designers.

In that case you might want to focus more on the fonts themselves. If you say 'subscribe to this service and you'll get fonts' people will assume they are getting popular fonts. If you showcase the actual fonts, then you are using them to make the sale and people can decide for themselves if they like your work and if they are interested.

Not here to compete? Thats simply impossible.

Nice looking site, I don't mind the scroll jacking when done right, but I agree with what others have said, the scroll jacking combined with the long animations is too much. Makes getting through the site feel really heavy and slow.

I'd also add that the font section of the site is very pretty, but again too much animation when hovering over font selections. Especially because I am trying to view the font, but the animation flings the font out of view for a moment, which really slows down my ability to browse through the selection.

Dreadful navigation on that site. The scroll-jacking is positively contemptuous and I tried to scroll up and and it sent me down again. God I hate web design right now, too many 'designers' in charge, so much form over function.

Just to get it straight – you can pay $15 a month to gather access to everything, but you can also buy a single font or font family (often for much more than $15)? It's a bit unclear right now, at least at the USE/BUY CTAs at the font family listings. If the subscription is your main sell, there should be something informing the user of the benefits of it at the CTA?

      Hi Adam,

Buying a subscription is exactly like buying a 1 user desktop license for all the fonts in the library. And you can do everything with fonts as far as you don't give them to a third-party. Just like how you'd work with a regular 1 user desktop license.

"BUY" feature is mainly for the clients (or non-subscribers) who wants to buy a copy for themselves. Clients generally don't need the entire library, they just need the font their designer have recommended them, without getting into the hassle of monthly payments. Also, in many cases, clients needs to use them on a larger scale. For designers, fonts are more of tools and they need an easy and affordable access to a library. That's why we offer subscription only to designers. But designers can also buy fonts for their clients.

      Hope this helps, :)

Ah, I hear ya. Maybe you should differntiate these two paths a bit more clearly? Like make the CTA for subscribing a bit bigger, since that's the most common use case, no?

Great idea... but so many knock-offs!

Hi Nick, Thanks for the feedback. What do you mean by so many Knock-offs? All the fontstore fonts are original designs of the respective designers.

You have a font that is a Didot clone and you've literally called it Didac.

Hi! I'm the designer of Didac. I don't have time right now to explain why Didac & Didot are so different (you can take a look to my website), but Didac is the name of my son, not at tribute to Didot. ;)

Many of the typefaces on your site, while legally distinct (and IANAL), bear striking similarity to other existing typefaces.

To me, they don't seem entirely original. So why would I pay for your service when I can get the typefaces I'm actually looking for (rather than something similar) for exactly the same price through Monotype?

(This isn't rhetorical by the way, I'm actually asking. If you have some secret sauce I've missed that makes it worth it, you might have a new customer.)

It's annoying that I can't see the CTA buttons. Natural thing would be to scroll down a bit and click them... Oh wait!
