    I'd be interested in how a mobile/responsive version of this plays out, because a lot of this looks tough to address in that context.

    I think this is extremely thoughtful and compelling. This is a very complex feature, and the article clearly shows how thoroughly they explored it.

    I'm very impressed, personally. This is how designers should explore product directions for companies they don't work for as design exercises. I would totally use this feature.

    Honestly, the Trello board looked much easier than the busy proposed interface.

    Also, planning vacations with about 50 million things in 10 days is not the way a lot of people in Europe do their vacations :)

    Some of the most valuable tools you have as a product manager is saying "no" and this is a feature that would probably complicate the core experience of AirBnB to the point where their unique value gets lost.

      It’s not necessary that you plan this way though. I’ve clearly explained how this doesn’t really interfere with the core of Airbnb.

      It’s a flow that you get into if you explicitly choose to plan a vacation in the first Search step.

      Having done Trello hell for my last 2 or 3 international holidays, anything that cuts out the round trip between trello -> city -> research -> trello would be really valuable. That's probably where the product gap exists.

    Nice! I think this is a great concept, but i am one of those people for whom an itinerary is a kill joy when it comes to travel but you have really a good process for designing anything!

      Thanks, yeah this Trello exercise has been going on for me for multiple trips and I always end up with 15 open tabs with all kinds of information left with it all to process myself.

      Something like this would definitely cut out the sea of tabs.

    This is a really incredible concept, Hardik. I've been using Route Perfect for holiday planning – while the interface certainly isn't as polished overall, it has a slightly higher information density which can be really useful for visualising a full trip.

    Interesting idea, but I'd rather see a flow that is simplified into separate chunks. Trying to keep track of what I want to do, when I want to do it, where it is in relation to me at that leg of the trip, along with all the other details like visa info is overwhelming.

    Everything is screaming at me and it's hard to distinguish what my current objective is and where I am at. (Not to mention it looks like I have to do this same flow multiple times for each leg.
