Curious what the genesis of this idea was.
There should be something like this for immigrant designers
As an immigrant designer I would definitely be interested in hearing stories from other designers about the challenges that come with being an immigrant designer such as language and culture differences.

A designer who immigrated to a country that speaks different language and culture. For example a designer who immigrate to US, Canada or some European country from Asian country..

As Akshay said, a designer who immigrated to another country and works in the design field. For example I'm an American who immigrated to Japan and work as a designer here.
How is that working out for you? Japan and states both have good design history. Do you think there is any discrimination?
I live in Vancouver, BC but I am originally from India. I think Vancouver tech design is awesome and supportive, but from my experience a lot of workplaces are not quite inclusive as one would think Canada would be. I have heard completely opposite about Torontonians.
It's worked out really well being different has really helped me stand out at times. However a lot of design is subjective and based on culture and local design trends design preference varies significantly, so you really need to study up on things as a non native.
Honestly, I don't know. I originally had in mind only designers from the USA and never considered immigrants to america or americans abroad. The focus was to be on non-caucasian designers within the USA.
I'd like to start with that and then grow from there. I hope that helps.
We started a podcast called “Diseño Cha Cha Cha” in which we touch these subjects sometimes. The podcast is about Latina and Latino designers working in the tech industry. Oh, and it's in Spanish :)
