Your site is better than most first timers'! Good work!

I think you can summarize your designer's statement on your about page by a lot. Also, consider showing work history; if you don't have a work history, think about including something that would work well in it's place. Side projects? Freelance projects? Anything?

    Semplice rules!

I'd love to see some flair. Your site is clean, but it's pretty generic. If you can't communicate your personality through design, how will you communicate a brand's?

Your UX/UI stuff looks good. You came to some decisions great, but why did you come to those decisions? Can you tell us more about the data that lead to your decisions? This helped me a lot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0v711LNYw8&t=1683s

Great work. On some of your pictures you have descriptions but not all of them, maybe make it a bit more consistent. I'm on the Pool project and there are images of coding but I'm not sure of the context. I can assume what I'm being shown but its probably better to be a bit more explicit.

    Hi!

One thought: I think the Pool project is very strong, great logo. However on that case study you have some screenshots of your HTML/CSS code being edited and the formatting / general hygiene of the code is pretty off kilter. I'd consider only showing code snippets if they are properly formatted and represent you attention to detail. For example, the CSS shown here: http://arturonavarrete.co/work/pool/ has some pretty wonky indentation going on. Liking the visual style tho!

Great work. I think now more than ever it's important to give potential employers not only an idea of what the final product you can produce, but how you got there. After spending the last few weeks interviewing (started a new gig this week), talking to 10+ companies in SF, it became abundantly clear to me that potential employers want to get excited about the way you think and how you approach a challenge. Your portfolio does a good job highlighting this!

One thing, on the ITINARIO case study at the end of the second paragraph there's a random "simplice theme" which is maybe left over from something.

Also: what font are you using in the Peet's Pets project?

Hey man, nice work. I like how you've included some of the thinking behind your projects. Looks great.

One thing I noticed is that some of your image files are way too big and are taking a really long time to load. This breaks the design in a few places while the images are loading (i.e text blocks and the footer section overlapping half-rendered case study images).

Check out Google PageSpeed Insights if you're not already familiar with it, and also tools like ImageOptim to squeeze the last few KBs out of your web-optimized images.

All the best with the job hunt!

I find some of the text a bit too small on my mobile phone. Otherwise, nice!

    1. Any reason why "PROFILE" links to the same page I'm looking at? I would remove the button.

    2. Your brand identity reminds me of Airbnb, dunno if that's a good or bad thing but you probably want to stand out!

    3. Watch out for typos (Names => name) and repetitions (your name is seen twice in the header)

    Hope this helps!
