Anyone use this plugin? How does it compare to Craft?
I am just reading the article and I am not an expert on either, but I think one major difference is that Craft has to use a 3rd party service such as dropbox and brand.ai has its own cloud based sync service. Other than that, they look similar from the context of keeping your Sketch Symbol Libraries up to date and synced.
From my understanding:
Brand.ai:
2.Supports syncing shared layer styles - Allows you to access your library from Sketch native UI (e.g. Shared text drop down)
Your library is editable and shareable from the web.
Styles and icons can be exported into Saas, Stylus, and other formats so developers can use THE SAME styles in code. An API enables developers to automate website and mobile apps update as your design system evolves.
Craft:
Includes powerful design tools that do more than syncing your design system. Craft Library is the craft tool that offers similar functionality to Brand.ai.
Can be anchored to Sketch UI
Provides visual queue when updates are available
Hope that helps!
Thanks for posting, Michael! We hope the series provides a useful overview of the different options available today. Happy to hear if there are additional resources you think should be included, and happy to address more questions in this thread.
