Zoho Notebook directly compares itself to Evernote's design and experience (zoho.com)

Looking forward to their Desktop app!
Looking only at a feature list Evernote would be the perfect note taking tool. But I dislike their interface so much, that it kills the whole experience. Unfortunately there is nothing that comes close ... only OneNote goes in the same direction but its interface is even weirder and the Mac version is a hollow shell compared to the Windows version.
I agree. Evernote SHOULD be great, but it's interface is awful. My team switched to dropbox paper, which has been wonderful, but doesn't support touch devices :(
Hey Florian, I totally agree with everything you said. If you'd like to be notified when the desktop app is ready, you can let us know at hello@zohonotebook.com. It should be ready within the next few months.
Try Alternote, it syncs with Evernote but provides a much cleaner desktop UI.
Hi, I'm Taylor, an evangelist at Zoho. Thanks for posting this Mattan.
I think it's awesome what Evernote has accomplished. Unfortunately the product's usability has suffered over the years.
With Notebook we put a lot of emphasis on design, and really wanted a good experience. The desktop version, web app, and browser extensions are coming. We'll bring the same level of detail to them as with the mobile app.
With that said, I'd love to hear what everyone thinks. We still have a lot of work to do. I'm happy to answer any questions, as well.
Seems like a cop-out to shallowly compare visual styling over the actual value and problem their app is solving.
Looking eerily similar to Google Keep.
I'm a long time Evernote user myself, but I have never been a big fan of their overly complex UI. I likely won't switch to Notebook, but I really want Evernote to put some work into improving their experience. Thus why I use Alternote on my Mac.
Seems thoughtful and influenced indirectly enough by Paper and SoundCloud in some of the shots, but since they really aren't direct competitors ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Without a desktop client, Zoho ain't gonna take me away from my precious Evernote.
