I think this is a chance for LinkedIn to be improoved. Microsoft has shown in the last years, that they can bring good and nice design to live. I hope LinkedIn will profit from this buy i more clarity and speed.

I posted a thread on this a while ago. Nobody provided anything useful as an alternative. LinkedIn is the industry standard unfortunately. The site is a UX nightmare

AngelList is pretty hip. However they primarily focus on startups.
Microsoft will likely drop the ball - as they have, but one thing crossed my mind.
Facebook bought Oculus.
Microsoft has Hololens and now Linkedin.
AR > VR - And, there are far more business oriented AR plays - where Linkedin could double as the distribution channel.
Feels weird watching that much money changing hands when you know nothing positive will come from it to help Linkedin be a better service and not be a nightmare to use.
