Oh Joel. You are so consistently good (control + cmd +spacebar) clap
I've been using the above shortcut for a while, and liked you can search for emojis (I'd never know the names otherwise), and you using the fuzzy search for the same looks like it would work well.
I've only recently started using Alfred workflows - they are soooo good. Would love a follow up post of how you're using them to streamline your process
p.s. mods, I had the clap emoji in the comment originally but when I post it strips out everything after it?
Awesome work, this is great.
The implementation isn't as great as Slack's :/ It requires you to remember exactly what the shortcut for the emoji is. You also have to manually enable the ones you want. You can basically do this in OSX already.
Totally agree that it's not there yet. Working on something better, but it'll take a while and I wanted the functionality now :)
You don't have to manually enable the ones you want, though. They should all be enabled by default. You only have to memorize the ones you care about, and a lot of them are pretty intuitive I think!
Why not generate a text substitution .plist file with all the emoji shortcuts you want ?
You can import/export this file directly in/from your System Preferences
Yeah sadly so... would love a system wide implementation of how slack manages their emojis. I can still dream...
