This has been around since CS5, it was just a manual task.
I'm all in favor of Adobe refining existing tools instead of releasing entirely new ones, if it means they get to spend more time fixing their performance bugs and cleaning up the interface. Too bad they're not doing that.
One way to improve performance a little: https://twitter.com/WeAreHyperion/status/673298762975084544
This notion that working on features takes away from fixing performance drives me nuts. It's generally not the case that a product engineer is the same engineer who works on performance or bugs.
They should start fixing some bugs in all their applications instead of putting or creating feature that nobody really needs. What I mean is thats a feature that you need maybe 10 times a year. I you are a professional camera artist you will never need this feature right? They are so many bugs and interface flows that are so buggy and corrupted. have a look hear on the tip of the iceberg: http://www.dearadobe.com/top_rated.php
