A New Froont v1.8 is Live

over 7 years ago from , Designer at FROONT

A big announcement! I'm not joining a big company and we aren't bought by anyone. But the tool I'm building to make web design more fun has a big update!

I started Froont few years ago with the idea that designers would have full control over the web design they're creating. It's super flexible, responsive and runs in the browser. You design the code visually and you see the result right away. Today we added the ability to use thousands of photos from Unsplash without leaving the app, reveal animations, popups and more. Hundreds of issues got fixed and many code lines rewritten.

Check out the new product video I made. And read more in this blog post.

Thank you!

Why have we not heard about this before?? You been holding out on us, Sandijs? haha

Seriously though, this looks awesome and your video was great. May even use this on a project I have coming up. Speaking of which, it'd be nifty if there was a sort of "client mode" where only small things like text and images are editable.

That way I could create a website, then give the client a "client mode" login, and then as time goes on they can make small changes to things without fear of screwing up the entire site. Anything major they want to change, like adding a page or adjusting the layout, would have to be done by the professional.

Thanks! The client mode it's something that's being asked for a lot. The good news is that we have it on our roadmap. The Froont 2.0 is already on the way and is packed with some amazing features. I hope we'll manage to add the client mode in there as well!

Thank you for your concern, but that is only for the front page. Front page is made with Froont and Froont pages have to be available through HTTP, because users making pages with Froont don't have their own HTTPS certificates, so their pages go through HTTP. As a side effect of that froont.com front page is currently also available through HTTP, but the app it self and the platform go only through HTTPS, so your data is safe there. :)

Great update. I think you'd have to fix a modal for showing plans in the app.

    froont

It shows 37 domains. So to be clear, freelance plan can have upto 3 websites? Any plan to have the client billing? The issue with this kind of service is that I can't have my client pay for the website hosting. Otherwise, it looks really awesome.

Thanks! Just fixed it. Freelancer plan has the ability to add 3 custom domain names and the Agency has 5. Handing off the project can easily be done now as well as you can move projects between accounts.
