Hi Everyone! I've just pushed the publish button on my second Chrome extension. And this time, it's for Dribbble.

Presenting Drippo : The ultimate dribbble shot and comment enhancer! With amazing features like:

  • HTML Autocomplete [for Dribbble's supported html tags - a, strong, em, code]
  • Shot Description Footer Templates [Save a reusable template for your dribbble shots]
  • Shot Preview [View a preview of your dribbble shot before posting it. Also works while editing or rebounding shots]

Made possible by the wonderful jquery-textcomplete plugin and a whole lot of free time (https://github.com/yuku-t/jquery-textcomplete)

I think Emoji is a nice concept, but the implemention shouldn't be up to a browser extension, IMO. Emoji support something should use the standardized syntax and be implemented by Dribbble internally so that it is supported sitewide.

If a Dribbble user (Dribbbler?) doesn't have this extension and they scroll through comments, they're just going to see the text, right?

The other features of this seem a lot more practical and useful, so I do think this is a good thing overall.

Hey Ed, thanks for checking it out! I'm glad you liked it.

And you've brought up a very common misconception. Dribbble actually has some basic support for emojis in their descriptions and comments. It's just that they need you to manually copy paste them from somewhere else.

All Drippo does is allow you to type it, right inside Dribbble. So, in answer to your question, no, they won't just see the text. They'll see the text with all the emojis you could ask for.

        Awesome, I had no idea.

I rescind pretty much everything, then! Thanks for responding.
