Hey guys, I've worked hard on my new website for months now and I'd love to show it to the community. Let me know if you see any bugs, glitches or loading problems. I'd love to hear any criticism or feedback.

Scroll hijacking?!?! Seriously?!?!

It is a beautiful website but I got fed up of trying to fight with the scroll to see what I wanted to see. It would be so much better without it.
The menu is a nice idea, I have not seen that done as neatly anywhere else. Contact could do with a margin to the right though.
Also, the text on the case study images at the bottom of the homepage is being cut off on hover on smaller (but not really small) screens.
It is a bit slow in places too, with some odd loading going on.
Overall though, the look and feel is lovely.
Off-topic. This is good constructive criticism, instead of "Scroll hijacking?!?! Seriously?!?!" that gives no value. Just saying.
If we're being honest and you compare the two comments that relate to the scroll hijacking; it's just one saying "seriously?!" obviously voicing his discontent, and the other saying "it would be much better without it", obviously a bit of paraphrasing here, but there really isn't that much difference in the comments.
In the end it's up to the designer to deconstruct the feedback and make something constructive of it.

I got your point and you are, in my opinion, partially right. Still, I think (personal preference probably) that getting descriptive or verbose feedback is better because it address the issue directly than trying to guess what's wrong.
Imagine that 8 of the 10 comments were like that, trying to deconstruct feedback of different people, with different views, from different cultures in a two words sentence.
You probably are smart and can figure out what that means, but what about new designers that they think doing scroll hijacking is OK, then they read "Scroll hijacking?!?! Seriously?!?!", then what input they will get if they are still learning?
I probably sounded like a dick, and I should have elaborated more my comment, I apologize for that.

I'd say thew same thing--the scroll hijacking was not really working properly, as I would constantly be accidentally scrolling past the information I was trying to get to. I'd suggest that if you're going to do scroll hijacking, at least force the scroll to only jump one section at a time. Currently, it seems to jump further down the page than you want it to 75% of the time.
The site does look beautiful, though.

For me you need to assess: a) your audience and b) what you want to get across.
Currently the most important thing on your website is a rather arty (but interesting) photo of yourself. To me this says "I care about my appearance more than I care about the work I've been involved with". Whilst that may not be true, you need to think about first impressions, as to a prospective employer my feeling is that you put yourself before the work.
Language used. Unique digital experiences is great, but "beautiful brand aesthetics" doesn't mean anything. It also suggests you prioritise making something look beautiful over clear thinking and reasoning. The language used throughout feels a tad stuffy: "Clientele" instead of "Clients" or "Electronic Mailing" instead of "email". Consider how this language makes you appear, and what it says about your design style/approach (does it say "intelligent" or does it say "I overcomplicate things unnecessarily"). Overall I feel this needs the most attention throughout.
Portfolio. This is the number 1 thing any employer or fellow designer is looking for when they visit your site. I had to scroll to the bottom of the page, and I'll be honest, as soon as I got to the contact details I had assumed (incorrectly) that I had reached the end of the site. Consider placing this first.
Clicking on the logo takes you to your persona page. This is a super cool looking page, but the expected behaviour was to return me to the "home" page. If you're going to change this, there had better be an excellent reason for it. Also, taking me offsite with no way of getting back to your portfolio without using the "back" button on my browser isn't a great experience.
Finally; scrolljacking. You've had some harsh feedback here, but the reality is this; it's a very cool effect, but what does it add to your site or my experience? Very little.
I agree about the focus on his appearance. I know he wants everyone to think he looks cool, but he just comes across as a fuckboy.
I also agree. I think all the stuff in the beginning can be condensed or placed at the base of the page. The primary goal is to showcase your work.
If your goal is to continue being a visual designer, then I think your portfolio nailed it. The visuals are high quality and captivating to look through. If you're looking to show your thought process or problem-solving skills, I'm finding it needs more writing. Additionally, case studies are typically used to show the journey to the solution and not just the visual results.
I also think the interactions are slightly distracting. It starts to feel like you're trying out a lot of different codes because they're super cool. I think usage of interactions and motion are really important when complimenting your design so I would focus primarily on how motion/interactions help assist the viewer of your portfolio through your portfolio.
Anyhow, you're clearly a great designer, it shows in the work. Tying it together is always hard so keep at it. Best of luck!!!

seriously, I like the work, even though I see some superflous stuff that could've been left out of the window (unnecessary loading with menu, scroll-jacking.. is that a video in the homepage? On mobile it gives me the Play button but nothing happens) it's a good portfolio but..
it's just that I'm getting soo tired of seeing the same patterns and style all over the place.. kudos for the very good work, but I personally wish I'd see some more diversification
Agreeing. Though what I personally don't like, is not the design itself, but the voicing and branding that seems to be almost ident to most designers nowadays. "I create beautiful experiences. I am obsessed with pixels. I love coffee. Hey... Lets talk"

Concerning your work, it looks great. You are obviously a product of big brand design. This means you work is beautiful but lack a usability. I would believe this is where the scrolling, and personal branding copy have been mislead.
I would also think that another larger firm would snatch you up quickly. "Looks good, doesn't care about usability = get him!"
If you are positioning as a specialty UI designer, well done. If you are trying to move anywhere further out or up, pause and consider aspects of the site that will deter the actual experience of visiting your site.
It's pretty. Making is for user friendly will make it great. Well done.
Thanks for the comment, kind words, and unfiltered criticism. I value the feedback and you are correct in most places. The scrolling is obviously an issue here that needs to be addressed, as it works nicely with my trackpad but users seems to be having problems with it. Stuffy copy? I'll work on it, that was not my intent and that is not who I am or how I want to be perceived, thanks. Dramatic portrait? Not really what I wanted Ideally but I have to make the best of my resources, which are extremely limited. Also, I do believe there is value in tying a face to a name.

It's unfortunate that the more interesting work is displayed only in little thumbnails under "Misc work". Would have loved to see more of it.
Thanks for the feedback, maybe I can develop those thumbnails into more informative pages in themselves.
The menu looks nice but I don’t see any reason for hiding it other than add some animations to it. I think it would work great if it was expanded all the time on large screens.
