Hopefully it's not like Adobe's secret feature that deletes your files.

One of the secret features is the fact that their plugin runs at all times, even when Sketch or PS are closed. I have emailed InVision asking about it but they just said "It is the intended behaviour".

Now, I don't know if this is the intended behaviour in order for the plugin to work or if there is any obscure reason behind that "Panels" process runs permanently while using the computer. It certainly doesn't make me feel comfortable about it unfortunately.

But again, it might just be me being a tad neurotic here and this might be required since the plugin also adds its own panels interface to Sketch (or PS) which is not similar to the other plugins available on Sketch Toolbox, for example?

    Who knows?

      Hey Marcus,

Panels.app is running permanently on background for one simple reason. It’s just checking if you open Sketch, so it can display the Craft panel immediately inside it. Without going manually into Sketch and clicking Plugin>Toggle Craft.

This app doesn’t run all plugins in the background. No need to worry about that. It’s simply just checking if/when you open Sketch.

If you’re not comfortable with panels.app running constantly, you can totally remove it from Applications. The only difference is that every time you open Sketch you’ll need to press “cmd+p” to show the Craft panel.

I hope this helped. We’re sorry for not explaining it enough and we’re putting it to FAQ asap.

For future updates we’ll be getting rid of that app and all installers and change it for something super awesome and easy to use :)

      Cheers, Tomas from InVision LABS

Thanks for the feedback Tomas, that makes more sense now as I definitely wouldn't mind pressing cmd+p instead of having the process running all the time.

Thanks Tomas.. The thing I want most from Craft now is precisely that behavior – do NOT open the panel until and unless I open it. Never open it automatically. (In other words: behave the way all the other panels in Sketch behave.)

Sounds like, 2 years ago, there used to be a handy "panels.app" application that could be deleted to fix this – but in the current Sketch version I don't see it.

How can I fix the Craft panel auto-on problem in 2018?

        Thanks

Go to "Type", Hover over a new cell to "+Add Action", ALT+Click on Add Action to bring up the drop down menu, select Khaled Ipsum from the bottom of the list. Bless up.

Is it the "Animals" category when you add a new action? Or have I just missed that all along?
