Typeface is a new kind of font manager for Mac (typeface.criminalbird.com)

Anyone potentially tried both this, and RightFont? Either of them a standout above the other?
I was going to ask if $9.99 was expensive for a font manger, but based on RightFont's price, it seems like it's not.
If you think $9.99 is expensive, then I'd suggest taking a look at FontExplorerX or Extensis Fusion
US$10 == expensive for software? Man, I must be getting old
It's not expensive. I just hand't heard of any other products in this space and I've only used Apple's built in Font Book. I was trying to gauge the value of this software over just the default. After researching it and seeing other products, I've realized that there are lots of benefits to tools like Typeface, FonExplorer and RightFont.
I'm interested to know this too. I purchased RIghtFont, but this seems like a good entry level app I can buy for friends.
i bought Rightfont s a few weeks ago, and i quite like it (only using on my personal laptop, not at work yet).
i just found this in the app notes: "Note that this version of Typeface strives to be the most beautiful font preview app for Mac :) While it provides light management features and tight integration with Font Book, there is no complicated database, font-cache cleanup or font activation. This means Typeface stays lightweight and can focus on doing what it does best: previewing & comparing fonts."
so it doesn't look as full features and looks more for previewing and comparing fonts... rather than managing.
Just tried it. It indeed looks beutiful, has some nice features (like showing fonts from a custom directory) but doesn't include any activation-deactivation features, and I'm really missing RightFont's icon selection. It's better to go with RightFont imho.
RightFont has the ability to sync via Dropbox or Drive, which I think is a huge feature.
My only complaint is that the fox icon looks a bit evil.
Came to say the same. I don't now if I want that fox sitting on my dock.
Has anyone tried these? I've been on the fence about moving from FontExplorer Pro to RightFont or Typeface. I'm not worried about getting value for $ (both are way cheaper than Linotype and Extensis). Typeface doesn't mention having font auto-activation, which I'm curious if that just goes without saying. If anyone has tried either of theses, would love to know how it worked for them.
From the App Store: "Note that this version of Typeface strives to be the most beautiful font preview app for Mac :) While it provides light management features and tight integration with Font Book, there is no complicated database, font-cache cleanup or font activation. This means Typeface stays lightweight and can focus on doing what it does best: previewing & comparing fonts."
so it looks like you can just see your fonts. i almost bought it. i have been using Rightfont on my personal laptop for a few weeks now and I'm happy with it.
Thanks! That's what I was worried about. If I have to manually activate/deactivate fonts all the time it takes away a big part of why I need a font manager. System just gets cluttered with tons of activated fonts. The app looks beautiful though, I hope they beef up the features eventually, might give it a second look.
Need this for Windows :(
No auto activation and no syncing.
