Gah! You beat me to it. :)
I’ve been using Operator Mono for a few months now and I’m really, really in love. I’m somewhat biased, of course, but I really gave this thing the best objective eye that I possibly could while testing it. The cursive style italics took a bit to get used to, but now I feel like I can’t code without them.
Can’t wait to see how other folks use them!!
The price-point is hard for me to get over since I kind of want to put it through a trial run.
Looks very fun and useful though!
You could always use Lobster, kidding...
I'd love to try this, but 200$? Overwhelming. I know it takes a lot of work to build a typeface, but it's just too much for what it gives me. I mean, Atom is free and Sublime is 80$. I can't put a 200$ font in there.
Cursive looks interesting, not sure about readability/clarity though. Too bad, that there is no way to test it on a live project.
(Currently using Office Code Pro since it came out.)
Is it just me or does the italic part of the code sample (see className) seem really hard to read? I just can't have that when coding.
It’s of course entirely subjective. As I mentioned, it took me a bit to get used to (as any big change in my editor would) but after about a day I found I really appreciated it. I’ve been using it for about three months now and I haven’t had any difficulties with legibility.
That looks really...weird. Like, cursive in my monospace font? I'm intrigued by it because it's different, but I feel like I'd go right back to using Hack. This is weird af.

'ref' is particularly illegible!
Operator Mono is on Codepen.io Not sure if you have to be a Pro
member or not.
I really would like to know their audience here. It feels like they did very little research into who would use such a typeface, and what they're normally accustomed to paying (0 - open source).
I am all about paying a creator, especially for typography, but it seems like this was more about the craft than the user.
Interesting! Reminds me of Cantarell
Would like to try it out on some actual code but the high price is just unreasonable IMO...
Does anyone know what is the Atom color theme featured on screenshot?
Heya Priit. The screenshot is from my editor.
UI Theme: One Dark (comes with Atom, I believe) — https://github.com/atom/one-dark-syntax
Syntax Theme: Oceanic Next — https://github.com/voronianski/oceanic-next-theme
… and the following CSS in my styles.less file:
atom-workspace, atom-text-editor { font-family: "Operator Mono SSm"; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.7; }
atom-panel.tool-panel { font-size: 0.88em; } .tree-view-resizer { min-width: 300px; }
Thanks for the info!
