I'd like to know preference of browsers when doing everyday things or for web design work. I currently use Chrome, but Safari has been getting tons of updates that seem worthwhile and I'm thinking about making the switch.

Chrome for work:
—dev features are miles ahead of any other browser IMO
—smooth Google Apps integration
Safari for personal stuff:
—smooth iOS/OSX integration
—doesn't push Google stuff into my face
—battery friendly
—still as fast and slick as when I opened it for the first time years ago
Second that, however I try to do as much as possible in Safari Dev Tools. They look and behave nicer than Chrome's one.

I use Firefox for both, personal and work. I love FF devtool and prefer it over Chrome for some reason.
Do you happen to have a carbon monoxide leak somewhere in your home? That could explain it.
I think I'm perfectly sane with unique preference. :)

I did, for 5 minutes and I see no point in it.
You should try Chrome dev tools in full. I was obsessed with FF for years before until I finally switch over when I got into some heavy JS software dev. It will change your life.
The features are ridiculous.
I did try using Chrome dev tools and I'm not into heavy JS development.
I noticed that it's very difficult to find out the webfont the website is using with Chrome dev tool, but with Firefox it's rather simple: image. Maybe I'm missing something.
Also perhaps Chrome is better to use on OS X than Firefox, but I'm on Windows with MacType font rendering and Firefox works very well with it. I'm also semi-tinfoil privacy type of a girl and I prefer FF over Chrome because of that.
damn, thank god I'm not the only one... looking at the thread here, and it looks like it bounces back and forth between chrome and safari... but I've been sticking with Firefox for a long while now, and haven't seen any reason to switch to either of those..although i suppose it may happen eventually...
I use Safari since Yosemite update. I love handoff. If I want to see the mobile version of the site, I just have it open on my desktop, whip out my phone and swipe up the little safari icon. It's something I do almost every day.
Working remotely on my personal machine, I notice myself leaning on Safari for personal use and Chrome for work.
Anyone with a similar workflow? (and/or suggestions on keeping work/personal services/software separate in cases like this)
Exact same here. Safari for personal browsing, Chrome when working.
I don't think I have any mindblowing tips, though. I usually have a fair share of productivity extensions on Chrome, plus all the resources I need for work on the bookmark bar.

Firefox for web development and personal. Way better extensions and privacy. Chrome for mobile development IE for testing
Safari is basically IE for the mac.

I switched back to Safari from Chrome, and I haven't looked back. Its quite nice actually... very very speedy, and I really like the "reader mode" + Reading List features.
Plus, I also prefer how Apple handles the "commonly used" bookmarks icons vs. Chrome's screen previews in a grid. Feels faster.
Safari on Mac. Chrome on PC.
I use Chrome at the moment. I would like to use Safari, since I think it looks the best, but there are too many annoyances. I hate the fact there are no favicons, you can only bring back one recently closed tab via hotkey, and so forth.
This is the reason I'm still using Chrome. Tab management is a million times easer.
As much as I wanted to move to Safari, there are still a few things I dont like about it, its Chrome for now
Chrome, specifically for their extensions. Some of my favorites are save to pocket, save to pinterest, and snachrr (http://getsnatchrr.com/) when I'm not in the mood to inspect elements. Not sure if other browsers offer these, but they've become a vital way for me to find and document inspiration
Chrome because the dev tools are what I'm used to (even if Safari's may be better statistically, which is the impression I'm getting from some other comments) and the extensions are there.
If Safari had better extension support, and installing/configuring extensions was as easy as it is on Chrome, I might make the switch. There are lots of things about Safari I much prefer over Chrome, but the extensions I need either aren't there or are an inferior version.
Mostly Safari, for the great integration between devices and nice development tools built-in. The new responsive preview is top! (cmd+alt+r)
I wish the safari inspector was better. I do like the integrations with devices and the responsive preview is v nice but the inspector is just confusing and overcomplicated. I use chrome for dev stuff and had to switch to safari for something the other day and was instantly frustrated. Chrome and FF dev tools are v similar so I find it easier to switch between the two. Safari just doesn't have that advantage.

Chrome. In my opinion it simply has the best dev tools available on the market currently. That being said I have to test my sites on all major browsers anyway at work, so I'll use them all.

...yes, I know. Nobody uses it. But, I became an Opera user back when IE still had the market on lockdown and Firefox was unusable (for me). I miss Presto, but now I stay with Opera because reasons.
I predominantly use Chrome but quite like Opera and considered switching to it recently

Yeah, I liked how simple and lightweight Opera feels, but I think most of my hesitation was that I have quite a few handy extensions in Chrome that I know (or assume) aren't available in Opera... and partly laziness haha. I also really like the customisable search shortcuts in Chrome which I'm not sure you can do in Opera. (Edit: you totally can.)
But I think at some point I still might switch to Opera for a week or so and give it a good bash and see if I can live without the add-ons.
Oh but you can use Chrome extensions in Opera! I've been doing so for some time now.

Chrome for personal. Chrome Canary for development. It has the best dev tools, though I do like Firefox Developer Edition.
Update: After playing with Safari a bit more, I believe it does in fact have superior developer tools.
Safari is my primary browser. Better performance and OS integration.
But Chrome on Android and for web development, as I can't stand the developer tools in Safari.
All day any day Chrome. The use of Chrome apps is seamless!

Safari on apple devices, and chrome on android. Still stick to chrome for dev work. Uses anything from push bullet or evernote, to paper or scribbles on my hand to ping links cross device.
Safari, mostly. Man, that command+option-r key stroke combination....someone posted here yesterday was pretty epic! If you haven't tried it, check it out.
As unpopular as it may be, I prefer Firefox, with additional privacy and security addons.
Chrome. Great DevTools plus I'm on Android so having "synced" tabs is nice.

Chrome for personal, Safari for work. Saves me switching accounts.
