iA's Wordpress theme page stood in the thin line between clever/brilliant and borderline kitschy. They got away with it using their masterful sense of copywriting. Honestly, I think this iA inspired theme and accompanying (UI) copy missed the mark.

So I'm the guy who made this theme. A few thoughts:

    • So every theme that's simple/whitespace/typographic is a copy of iA's? Look at my own site, which has looked like this for years, https://pjrvs.com - that's what I modelled NADA off of.
    • I've been making simple WP themes for years and selling them. Most look similar to NADA. All have come out before iA made a theme.
    • I write quirky/silly sales content, and have for years. Look at any of my products or writing over the past 5 years.
    • There's not a single copy of any text from iA to my site. There's not a single piece of code copied (server side or client site) from iA. The colours are different. The fonts are different.

How is this a copy again...? If you don't like the theme, that's totally fine, no one is twisting your arm to buy it. I'm certainly not.

This, along with iA (I presume) are simply a different direction for massively bloated WP themes that rely on 100s of scripts and shortcodes to work, and make the user (who probably isn't a web professional) "design" their site.

    Cheers, Paul

I believe both theme's price's are pretty high for a thing that implies "doing nothing". The idea and the price contradicts. In hipster world, people may tend to threw away their money for a jar or air but I'd like to pay for features and functioning tools or a jar of peanut butter.

Agreed. The iA one can pass off the big price tag with it being almost a joke, but at the same time, I'm pretty sure that it's a quality product like other offerings from iA.

This theme does not warrant the $49 price tag in any way.
