Agreed, adding 127.0.0.1 facebook.com to /etc/hosts would help more.
I use a little Mac App called SelfControl, which pretty much does this with a timer
Joel, the insight Ahmet realised is that people habitually check Facebook. We have this knee jerk reaction to check out Facebook, even when we don’t want to. It's why many have resorted to deleting their Facebook account. The idea is to replace silly photos from people you don't care about with cool content from places like Designer News, Hacker News and Product Hunt. Hope that makes sense buddy.

Why would I use this instead of just going on DN/others directly? Serious question.
It's not built for replacing the habit of going DN, it's for the ones (like me) has the habit of typing faceb -> hit enter, whenever I'm done with something. I observed that I really don't have to browse at that point and since I developed this habit it's a good way to have dribbble feed in my case.

I don't access Facebook during work. (except the occasionally image / video sharing)
I haven't used Fakebook in 3 years and I do not regret it one bit.

It's a good idea but having Dribbble as the only default option for the feed makes no sense to me.
