I've got very simple one-pager and I'm wondering what are some other simple CMSes? WordPress is cool & has huge community, but it's too complicated for one page with few editable sections.
(I'd upvote and post funny GIFs for free solutions)
I am a big fan of Kirby CMS. It's a flat file system so setup is a breeze and it can be very good for simple one pagers.
You may also want to take a look at a static site generator like Jekyll which allows for you to deploy easily when you need changes. Although that isn't really a CMS solution.

Yes, go for Kirby. Use it on http://sketchtips.info and it's a breeze. Easy to setup, easy to maintain.
I was about to say that Craft is overkill, but the video on this page shows it working perfectly with one page content http://buildwithcraft.com/features/matrix
+1 for me, craft is the most versatile and flexible CMS i have tried, and it is super simple to learn.
Would really recommend it for onepage sites

Statamic is amazing for this type of work. Our company uses it for our site, and I use it for my personal site now. It's as lightweight or heavy as you need it to be, without the overhead of a database.

Maybe I should ask: why do you need a CMS for a "simple one-pager"?

Client probably needs to be able to modify content without having to contact the developer.
It's one-pager but with content that's going to be modified once a while. Of course I could edit html file, but it's for Client who doesn't know HTML well.
Give Anchor CMS a look. Uses Twig, has an admin panel for a client, but still super simple and tiny (150kb).
Alternatively I have heard of people making just a static html page that pulls text from a Google Docs file... maybe that could be of interest.
+1 for Anchor CMS, but I am a bit biased. It doesn't use Twig for templating though, it's similar templating to WordPress.

I don't think I can comfortably recommend Anchor (even though I did like it) to anyone since it hasn't been updated in, what, 2+ years? Probably less than that, but it feels like forever.

Do you mean updated as in the UI hasn't changed?
Anchor CMS isn't a bad option. Although it hasn't had a new version release for quiet some time. And as far as I know, I've found a few bugs that does limit the functionality of the site that have yet to be addressed in a stable release (I run The Start FM on Anchor CMS for over a year and still haven't seen great support/community feedback.
Have you been using the forum and GitHub to report issues?
Looks like the fix has been implemented at some point, I would've thought it's made it into a stable release as well.

Jekyll's a great way to go if it's a simple one page website. Moreover, it's super easy to get it up and running with GitHub Pages!
Been using it for a bit and I like Jekyll for how easy and speedy it is. I would go for this too but the client will need to touch code.

I'm a big fan of Ghost. It's very simple and lightweight.
Cactus is great (but requires HTML knowledge, in case you're passing on to a client)
p.s. deployment to S3 is super easy too
I don't think I'd advise using Cactus for content management, especially if you want it to be editable for a client.
For sure – but for a one pager, and a client that can handle .MD files it's a super quick way to make sites.
Thanks for mentioning Sitecake, that might be really good for very simple client sites.
If you have a basic understanding of PHP or another server side scripting language you can very easily write your own to pull from either some markdown files or a database, why use a CMS if it would be overkill? That said I've heard good things about tidycms and similar flat file static site editors. otherwise, why not put something together with ghost or octopress :)
I built a "Dropbox for static sites" that includes a sitebuilder-style editor I'm working on. Would be really happy if anyone wanted to play around with it, kick the tires a bit.

What makes it unique is that you don't have to do anything special to your static website, you just drag in a zip to upload, & all of the HTML pages get a WYSIWYG editor.
Did you think about Harp Js ? As Jekyll, it is a static solution but really easier to use.
You might want to check out Grav (http://getgrav.org) - they have some nice pre-built sites to get started very quickly, so far really enjoying it!

Middleman to generate the static pages, contentful for the cms and netlify to deploy, works a treat.
Try http://cloudcannon.com It has support for basic HTML sites and Jekyll.

I am developing Cicerone.co for this kind of situation. A traditional CMS in this case seems like it's overkill.
With Cicerone you would write the HTML+CSS with special {{tags}} to indicate where the editable content is. Then you pass the project files on to your client. They can use the visual editor to update the content in a -- dare I say it? -- WYSIWYG interface. When they hit "Publish" Cicerone generates a static site and pushes it to a pre-configured host (S3, FTP, whatever).
So you'd have full control of the markup, the client gets a visual interface to work with and there are no database or server requirements whatsoever.

If you're on a Mac, try Blocs. It's not a CMS, but it's one of the best tools I've found to build simple landing pages quickly.
