We're making Niice completely free for students (niice.co)

This made my day. I constantly use it in school to create moodboards (which we always have to do). Niice has proven to reduce my time searching and composing images and just heading straight to my teachers for feedback with a moodboard.
I can't express how glad I am that Niice Pro is free for design students!
niice one!
Niice.
I've never actually used Niice for creating moodboards, so I wasn't even aware it was a paid service.
Looking at the pricing....$9 for a single (non-team) account seems high. Especially when you consider all the stuff designers are usually paying for every month with all services seemingly going with the recurring payment business model. (That shit adds up yo)
Great to see they are giving it free to students though, but for me, there are so many free alternatives, I could NEVER justify buying a single pro plan. Only way I would use this is if I was working somewhere and this was the tool they used and paid for.
That's fair feedback, and pricing is always tricky. We have to make a living, but it's up to us to ensure the functionality is worth the price of entry. For folks who spend hours putting together boards for presentations, Niice is a huge timesaver, but if that's not a painpoint for you then you're not going to get the same value.
It's up to us to keep increasing the value of the product so it's worth upgrading to more people, but don't worry... you'll always be able to use it for free too :)
I have made 10 queries, ranging from my name to simple nouns such as "apple" and every time I get:
We couldn't find any ‘[search query]’ images, try using different words or click below if you're feeling adventurous
That's odd... we're not likely to have any images tagged with your name but when I do a search for Apple it gives me quite a few results:
Could you send me an email at chris@niice.co and we'll try and figure out what's broken for you?
It works for me now as well. I have tried replicating the issue, though it does not appear as something that can be replicated from end (i.e. server issue most likely). I suggest looking at the logs.
This was happening to me a few days ago as well. Just checked again and its working now. Not sure what the problem was.
Awesome! Great news Chris!
It's always awesome to see companies like this keeping students in mind.
Great stuff. Love the short quick-tips on the blog :)
