I use two twitter accounts and I noticed that Twitter is AB testing the placement of the Tweet Buttons.

I actually prefer the first one. I was seeing the second one this morning and didn't like how unbalanced it felt with the two buttons crowded over to the right.
The entire interface sort of feels crowded with a 3rd task bar now though.
Yeah agreed, I don't mind the two icons side by side. Not ideal, but better than loosing y-height IMHO.

I can say that the first is less familiar and will definitely cause me to rage quit while trying to find the tweet button.
It would be interesting to see which they end up with. The good design or the design that sell more ads.
