I'm skeptical at this point of anything Adobe puts out, Khoi Vinh or not, it's a giant company with huge hoops to jump through. We've seen so many new product initiatives fizzle out. I wish them all the best, and I look forward to what they come up with, but I have my doubts.

This is a really interesting move to see. He's been really critical of Adobe in the past.

He's also worked quite closely with them. Hopefully this change means he can shift from having to deal in new products (i.e. Comp) to improving existing ones.

Fingers crossed. This news puts his blogposts on the state of design tools in a whole new light - he can bring to bear all the insights he gained from that survey.

This was the inevitable conclusion that could be read through his recent blogposts. Congratulations Khoi, you are a very smart guy, I honestly hope you can do meaningful things to turn a sinking ship around!

If persons challenge your brand in an intelligent way - why not hire them? Way to go Adobe.

Khoi can certainly do great things there. I wonder what their NYC office is focused on, and I wonder how well that integrates with their SF offices. Could be very good :)
