I think I found an interesting thing regarding Scroll Hijacking

We have seen many Site Designs here on DN. We hate some sites for Scroll Hijacking and some time we praise it.

What I found is, when many comments says, its worst scroll hijacking and when I checked the site, It's working super fine for me. But on some other sites, some comment says, the scroll is done right. I feel the scroll doesn't work good on my side.

I'm on a windows machine and I'm assuming, if the scroll is worst on Mac, it would be nice on Windows, and if its fine on Mac, and it should be worst on Windows.

Its just an assumption, so can we actually do a test? So, let's take some of the scroll hijacking websites that are nicely done and poorly done. And we will compare it with windows to see how it works.

    Not to mention if someone's using a magic mouse, any scroll jacked site will be a trip to hell and back.

    It's not just to do with the physicality of it. It's the reasoning. It's like a scrubbable powerpoint presentation.

    Play a freaking video. Stop forcing people to watch mediocre transitions with terrible inbetweens when you stop scrolling.

    My mouse Logitech G500 has anti-scrolljacking technology called "Hyperscroll" so I don't have issue with most websites.

    Scroll hijacking should be banned for most sites.

    Unless you're doing some sweet well tested branding stuff :)

    I think....if it works well on some and not on others, regardless of Mac, PC, sex or race - it's a failure overall. It's just not necessary to implement - there's other ways to craft a narrative.

    I hated how scrolling is different across the browsers and platforms. It's either continuous, discrete or somewhere in between. Mozilla has its own scrolling smoothing, IE has another one, Chrome prefers to make it discrete on windows. It's pretty standard across browsers on Mac OS.

    I spend hours to implement a smoothing function which feels like same across all these platforms and browsers. I coded many different functions yet I ended up deleting all the code and implementing a simple snap function. It's still disturbing but I believe it's better than scroll hacking all the time.
