We are looking to use something like UserVoice where our users/costumes can upvote and suggest features. We wouldn't use any of the other features UserVoice offers such as the support articles, we use Zendesk.
Are there any good alternatives that aren't $499/month?
Any and all suggestions would be helpful, including open source options we could build ourselves quickly.
With ZenDesk you can setup a community option which includes some level of voting.

Not as clear cut as UserVoice but works quite well in my experience.
These posts will also show in search results when users are searching for tickets in ZenDesk, which can help when people are searching for answers.
Thanks, we are using zendesk now but I didn't realize it has this level voting. I'm going to go in this direction I think.

we switched from uservoice to reamaze. never regretted!
