Can Dribbble please focus on making their site relevant again and not on designing fonts? How about fixing search, site design, offering new size options? I hardly use them anymore and was hoping for a big update, instead we get a… font?
I agree a 100%. The search is awful. So is the navigation on the mobile version.
-_-
Tried giving you reddit gold but it didn't work.
Where do you look instead of Dribbble lately?
I prefer Behance, although the content there is not as frequent of course.
Here's a sample:
Hey Eli. Do you still have a copy of the font file?
So, it's basically a mix between Proxima Nova and Proxima Nova Alt.
Sure looks like it. https://typekit.com/fonts/proxima-nova-alt
Some improvements in legibility. Still some areas where it's less legible even with color tweaks.
more interesting is the amount of followers they've gained between screenshots. holy crap.
I think it looks weird in small sizes. The x-height is too short.
Yeah, looks odd to me, and not in a "this is new and I'm not used to it" kind of way.
I've got no opinions about the aesthetics of it, but the font renders terribly on Chrome/Windows.
I like the new changes coming to Dribbble, especially the infinite scroll.
Agree this looks a little funny at small sizes, but overall I think it's an improvement.
Infinite scroll is both a blessing and curse.
I'm really not a fan of the typeface choice. It looks like somebody just picked a font on dafont and threw it in without thinking about how it'd actually look on the site.
Most of the other tweaks are really nice. However I still don't understand why the shots must remain so small. I'm a big fan of Booom! and feel that's just so much more natural then the current state. It almost feels outdated.
Proxima Nova Dribbble?
Ok...ay, I like the change of lowercase “a”, but I really can’t stand that lowercase “y”...
The main menu feels like a mismatch now. They must re-align the logo with the new typeface. I'm happier with the endless scroll they implemented.
All I can see is that a
"teoms"
It feels as though the capitals have an ever-so-slightly heavier weight than the lower case characters, especially at smaller sizes. It's throwing me off, hard to tell if it's just because it's new or if there really are problems with it.
The font rendering isn't the best on a non-retina display, especially with smaller sizes. All of Dribbble feels too small in a way, like the shots and fonts could go a bit bigger now that everyone's got a large screen. Give the site some more breathing room!
They seriously need to realign the mission of their site, aesthetics are just fine.
dont care at all
I like the change. (Admitted fan of PN in general, though.) Now, on to more substantial changes!
I don't the new font. Bacause the bold type too bold, thin type too thin.
I've been waiting for a better search for a long time. https://dribbble.com/shots/1615415-What-Dribbble-is-missing
I'm not a fan of Proxima Nova, it really doesn't render well at smaller font sizes
I don't like the font personally. Its not looking professional.
looks fine
I’ve really had a thing with the original double-story /a. The bowl’s out-stroke feels so weird, and the middle-stroke too fat. But here we have a single-story /a! Yay!
The /y feels too whimsical. Or they’re also sensing this whimsical trend in member works and tried to echo that in their type.
Gross.
On a Retina display this looks fine at small sizes, but so does every font on this screen to be honest.
I just went on the Dribbble homepage, don't know if I'm just seeing the old version or my eyes are playing tricks on me, but it just looks like regular Proxima Nova.
I just think it's nifty that they've commissioned their own version of Proxima Nova.
Perfect match and execution!
