Ask DN: What are your favourite books about branding or visual identity design?

I am already familiar with Unity Editions books. I am expecting more unconventional/unpopular suggestions.

Classic, and ageless: Type, Form, and Chaos by Paul Rand
one I can always look to
Brand New by the late Wally Olins is the best branding book I've ever read. I highly recommend buying it and reading it regularly. It's highly researched and well-thought out, and Wally's extensive experience in the industry bring a transcendent level of depth to his analysis of globalisation and what it takes to build a stellar brand in our new world.
