The thing it's complaining about is the Flashlight Spotlight extension. Flashlight uses an extremely hacky mechanism called SIMBL, which is a way for one program to augment another in OS X.
While it's not surprising that things might not play well when SIMBL is involved, I believe your original point is still valid in that this is a pretty awkward thing for the Adobe installer to fail over, and they offer a terrible, misleading, unhelpful error message to resolve it.

Just switch off Flashlight while installing CC apps
duh, thank u sir. I forgot I installed that spotlight enhancer, for some reason I just assumed it was an Adobe service
