It kinda surprised me, but system notifications actually work out of box in my app. You just need to go to settings of Messenger and turn them on :)

It's a nice side effect of using well-maintained wrapper for web app such as Electron from GitHub

Cool, I always used the Current app for this. But the new messenger looks way nicer!

I don't recommend using unofficial applications. Now there is a security problem with the official application. On the other hand it's everyone's choice.
