I've played with ASCII Art in BBS, which is still a big community and have lots of user in Taiwan. The process is always painful if doing that in a pure BBS environment instead of an editor. This tool looks fun!

Hey everyone, Monodraw is finally here! Although it's primarily a developers tool, it can also be used to quickly mock up layouts and user flows.

If you have any ideas or would like to see a particular feature, let us know. Both members of the Monodraw team will be monitoring this thread

Can you explain why I might want to use this rather than tools like Visual Paradigm?

I haven't used Visual Paradigm myself but it seems like proper diagramming app. Monodraw on the other hand is all about ASCII. There are two main benefits to using ASCII:

        • Since it's just text, you can embed it anywhere.
        • It's very easy to just quickly make a rough sketch and share it.

If you're looking for a proper diagramming app, Monodraw is not the app. On the other hand, if you're looking for something quick and dirty that you can put in your tech docs or similar places, then you've found the app you need.

        Hope that makes sense.

Difficult to argue with free! Though not sure I'd want to pay for this, can't think of a use case.
