THIS is how design for an app that has an endless array of complex possibilities/features should be designed. Great work, downloading now!

Curious to better understand the decision of shipping 3 separate apps, versus 1 or two. I'm having a hard time differentiating Button from Note, beyond the Notification Center Widget in one app and text input in the other.

Good question! This was a pretty contentious decision early on the in the product cycle. We originally started with the idea of a single app that ran all three of these functions. We learned that asking users to decide on a Recipe and tool - from within the same interface - was a little too confusing.

It also allowed us to simplify the product for users who might not want all 3 types all the time. We realized that not all 3 types appeal to all users, so the more we could break it up, the more lightweight of an experience we could provide for the type someone does want.

Also digging the new look and feel that shouts simplicity. Was this developed in-house along with the three new apps and the IF app refresh?

Thank you very much for your compliment. The IFTTT Design Team is small (3 people!) but we work very closely with our talented developers. They work their asses off to make the product's as polished as they are.

Anyone else getting a "The item you tried to buy is no longer available" alert when trying to download it from the App Store?

Tried again an hour later and downloading fine now!
