I've got a relatively inexpensive Daniel Wellington watch. It's nice and clean, and is easy to change watch straps (between a NATO one and a leather one).

Some day I'll buy myself a Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope. Beautyful, simplicity, timeless, elegant.

These are all watches, but –

I'm working right now on putting together a "Planet Monster" – a modified Seiko SKX007 with parts from or inspired by the best design elements of a handful of other watches. I think it winds up being better than the sum of it's parts.

I'm also, right now, in love with the vintage Seiko Bullhead Chrono and the Damasko DC66.

The Bullhead was one of the first few automatic chronographs, so I'm into it for the history. It's nicknamed "Bullhead" because the chrono pushers are aligned with the top of the face, so they don't push into your wrist. You don't see that very often anymore.

The Damasko is novel for the materials they use to put the watch together – they use a proprietary hardened steel alloy thats supposedly stronger than any other watchmaker.

The George Nelson Polygon clock has been on my wishlist for a number of years now. I think it adds the perfect balance of interest to a space without being overbearingly loud, or unimaginative and boring.

Anything from the quartz collection would be a dream to own. I like something like #13, a horizontal composition of twisted metal and moving hands.

Why do i like it? Because it shows attention to detail, a vision, and an artist having an opinion in a mostly bland (i.e. Swiss influenced) world of clock design. Do I like it for it's functionality? Hell no. It would be incredibly hard to read on a consistent basis... But I'm more the kind of person who looks out the window if I want to know what time it is.
