Unbelievable video. Thanks for putting so much time & effort into this. So great to see/hear the full story & kit behind those images.

    Looking forward to more!

Sheesh, bro. Highest quality video I've seen in a long time. I'm not a photographer or adventurer, but that was just entertaining (minus the screencast part, though I understand it's utility for others).

Cool glad you liked it! Yeah screencasts can be pretty boring -- included the section timestamps to allow people to skip that part. Will consider ways to make those more exciting when they're necessary.

You've got a great knack for presenting/talking. I enjoyed that.

I found the Lightroom stuff useful, too. I'm an Aperture guy currently, but now it's been shuttered I keep contemplating moving over to Lightroom. Have you ever used Aperture yourself? How do they compare?

Oh, and as a related question, what do you think of Apple's Photos app for Mac now there's more information available?

P.S. I just posted this to Hacker News (again!) — I hope you don't mind.

Hey David, thanks for that. I gave Aperture a spin a few years ago, but never seriously. Lightroom has always been my top choice and is a really great program. I have nitpicks of course, but overall it's top-notch for quick edits and photo management.

So I haven't had a good look at the Photos app yet. I'll investigate. I will say, what I desperately want is an app to come along that is really good at de-duping. My different libraries are so fragmented -- getting them all of them in one cloud-reinforced place, is a daunting task.
