damn. this is addictive.
This isn't A/B testing. Not even a little.
It fills a small void with the departure of http://www.polarb.com/ but this is hardly scientific.
Not sure I agree? Of course it can be used as A/B testing. It doesn't have to be a scientific experiment to getting a quick opinion from the community.
I agree with the other point, a bit of a rip off of http://www.polarb.com/ but like how it's aimed at the design community so you get validated feedback.
Also reminded me of http://scorem.co.uk which again is like polar but aimed at a specific audience, football fans.
A/B tests are intended to evaluate a design. If you have two designs and want to see which results in higher conversions, for example, you would instrument a deploy so 50% of your customers see Design A and 50% see Design B. Then you measure the conversion rate. The user doesn't see both designs. A/B tests aren't exactly scientific either but it's data you can use to inform another design.
Desinion is more of a feedback tool using a polling convention similar to Polar, from my estimation. This is not to say that the site isn't useful; just wanted to clarify what A/B testing is. :D
Yea I see your point. In the strictest sense the terminology it's self relates to slip testing. But the principal of gathering the data of A/B is the same
I have to agree, A/B testing is something different, I call this preference testing. It is similar to my own http://www.evaluately.com/
Naturally, my initial comment was a bit terse. I didn't mean to diminish the value of getting quick voting style feedback.
It's just not really the equivalent of a/b testing. We're not subjecting unsuspecting users to an A or B experience and evaluating various outcomes and measures here. Simply asking people (designers probably) for a quick gut check.
I dig your dinosaur avatar btw :)
Yea I know mate, I just wanted to start the conversation. Having a whalely good debate with you... :/
I like it!
It's a shame passwords can't be longer than 15 characters, though.
This is definitely not "A/B Testing"
It is A/B testing only if you test something in context. This is what the site advertises it to be.. just an opinion gatherer.
Weirdly addictive. I just did about 20 of them and I have work to do!
Good idea but having played with it for a few minutes I couldn't help but think, 'I wish there was some serious work on here I could really think about.'
tagline sucks, but the app is actually great.
A bit like your comment.
