Hey Murat,
I’m in the mood to give some uncensored feedback :)
First and foremost, looking good. — The quality of the design and product are both admirable. Great job!
The demo video shows the old homepage. — I don’t know your user behavior, but I’m used to marketing videos being a huge part of conversion and an up-to-date video is a must.
Dropbox, is that you? — I had to load http://dropbox.com to confirm your brand was any different. (Barely.)
Everything is white? (But Apps?) — I guess this is the current trend (or perhaps the easiest way to "look clean" as my colleague says), but admittedly, this is more a personal gripe.
Every section is white, and many sections contain functionally similar content. The problem I see is that with no strong visual boundaries, it becomes hard to distinguish and digest the content throughout the site…
It feels like the same bit of content, stretched across a contrived number of pages. The only (glaring) exception is your Apps page, which looks out of place sporting a dimmed hero image.
Pricing Page Layout. — It looks like you’re gearing up to add more pricing tiers, but if that’s not the case, the layout/negative space is a little extreme. The 3 value props underneath could easily fit next to the 2 pricing tiers. (Just a suggestion.)
Three Different Illustration Styles. — Why?
Nitpick. — This is a really minor one, but the border-width
on your homepage’s Play Video Demo button is the ONLY button at 1px
. (I’m comparing to Sign In and the App Store buttons.)
You Really Nailed…
Hey Julian,
Thanks for all of this.
Admittedly I didn't expect it to get posted, we were doing a soft launch over the weekend when it's quiet so we could fix up a bunch of stuff.
Agree with everything you've said, if I'm honest I'm not totally happy with the design that I've done. I ended up rushing it when we were fundraising, making some weird decisions. Max De Greve will do a better job on the next one :)
However it's a step in the right direction for us, moving into the more creative/illustrative look.
here's some answers:
The demo video shows the old homepage. — Need to update this of course. Will do it tonight. Eventually we'll get a proper one done but for now the screencast seems to work well.
Dropbox, is that you? — I might gather some feedback about this and see what everyone thinks, it's easy enough for us to change the logo back to purple. The illustrations were in the app previously and they went down really well, so with the new site it just fell like it fitted with the direction we wanted to go.
Everything is white? (But Apps?) - This is my fault, the new design for this page got held up but is coming (/apps is currently the old design)
Pricing Page Layout - they'll be more tiers but this page is gonna change again next month.
Three Different Illustration Styles - changing this!
Nitpick - fixing :)
Thanks again!
Inspiring work!
I know how it goes when you get featured, right before you’re ready for a launch haha. (It’s one hell of a motivator.)
I look forward to seeing Marvel evolve!
Exactly! (still awake here! haha)
Hey Murat,
Just one minor thing to add - the example prototype for iPhone - the "Runway" app has a typo on the landing screen:
"Explore nerby restaurants and places to eat"
Dropbox, is that you? - I actually liked this when I noticed it. Dropbox is a big component of your product. Make it feel streamlined.
I thought Dropbox too for sure.

Looking good Murat.
"Our efforts are backed by these amazing companies, who have let us develop Marvel from the very early stages. Our efforts are backed by these amazing companies, who have let us develop Marvel from the very early stages."
Copy glitch on the about page you need to fix.
Did you change the logo? New one feels a little off balance.
Hey Paul,
Thanks for this. There's tons of typo's and other stuff. We had to push it early because the new iOS app uses the new log in system and it's about to be approved so it's a bit of a mad rush.
We're fixing it up now!
If you're based in Old Street then why are the prices in $s?
Is that where most of your users are based?
Yeah pretty much most of our users are stateside
How is this different from http://www.invisionapp.com?
There's a lot of similarities (both will produce a prototype) there's a lot of differences (we have apps, they have lots of collab stuff/ LiveShare etc).
I think the future of both products will be different and serve users needs in equally beneficial ways
Great design, everything I wanted to say is already told by Julian... Also, please make sure your new video will not have black background on left and right side.
Go with purple...
Please add a condensed list view for screens in a project! Please!!
Hey Murat,
On the first look I thought Dropbox must've taken over MarvelApp, because of how uncannily similar the visual design looks to me in comparison to Dropbox's website.
Other than that, it seems great - especially the typefaces and the animation.
Thanks Vinay!
Quick question, would you still think that if the logo was still purple? For example

Hey Murat.. This one's so much better and I couldn't associate 'Dropbox' with this as opposed to the previous one.
Man, I'm jealous :-) Great design and I love this animation at the top of the page (though to be picky it's a little blurred on my retina macbook)
You are very kind, i'll see what we can do about the vid,!
