I am just about getting started on hand lettering things and I was wondering what you guys do to get them onto your computer? I have tried using Photoshop (Illustrator keeps crashing) but its not great as I just can't seem to get the flow right.
Good advice, nice "D"
Thanks for the Bézier Game, great idea :)
I will also take a look at the other two links :)
Love to take credit but it was all Dav(id Hubner) idea. I just happen to have an almost identical avatar :-o
Illustrator's tracing tool is pretty awesome for getting things started. It won't be a 100% accurate, at which you start hammering away at the pen tool.
Yeah keep trying that, but Adobe won't respond to me about my Illustrator always crashing...
Checkout The AGSC they have a few good tutorials on the lettering process including digitizing the lettering.
If you cleaned it up enough in photoshop you could take it into illustrator and live trace it as Ege suggested depending on what level of detail you want, you'll get better results if the image that it is trying to trace is larger also.
Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot, will give Illustrator another go then as soon as I get it fixed :)
If you have an iPad then Adobe Ideas is very useful
Yeah, tried it before but going to give it another go now I feel I am a bit better at it :)
