it's an open sign alright
Making good design accessible to a demographic that could really benefit and appreciate it is an admirable goal. a $72 open sign is not accessible nor does it help that demographic benefit or appreciate good design. The types of businesses that would spend that kind of money on something so trivial are most likely the businesses that are disappearing before 5 years.
It's a parody. It has to be.
Hmm...I don't think that sign is going to age well.
I dig the idea behind this but I feel like the execution seems surprisingly tone deaf. I have worked with a number of restaurants too and most would not even think of spending money on an open sign ( $72 or not. ) Really, they wouldn't spend anything that they don't absolutely need even if they liked it. Further, the sign seems too styled after their inspiration. As a result, it wouldn't stylistically fit with a large percentage of establishments.
Yes, but is the wood used sourced from renewable forests? And what about the paint, is it gluten-free at least?
Also, I hope this open sign comes with a style guide. I wouldn't want to accidentally hang it the wrong way.
In any case I'm very excited to see what these guys come out with next. Can't wait for the v2.0 that also says “Closed” on the back, I heard that one will be a bargain at only $150!
That's a joke, right?
Funniest thing I've read today
Either this is a joke or I, just, I quit everything.
Talk about over designing...
Oh and of course: "Hand-Crafted" "Considered Design" "Quality First"
72$? Isn't it super expensive?
crickets
It doesn't quite make sense to me...
I get the theme. I don't get the price point.
But, I'm all for people doing what they are passionate about. I wish the best for them.
