ironic that david m's site itself also has insanely long measures that require the user to resize?
Hey, maybe we shouldn't be bothering to choose a color palette either? After all, our users could always learn CSS, then break open dev tools and apply their own palette.
Actually, screw it! From now on, I'm just gonna let the user design the site. I mean, I'm just a designer, what do you want from me?!
This was a good blog post.
Unfortunately, kind of ironically and kind of in spirit with the post, sports incorrectly used viewport meta description: Size on iPhone is fixed to 1, resizing is turned off, but content doesn't reflow to iphone's width and you need to swipe left and right all the time. That is not a way to do RWD, I think.
haha.. good point, but the key difference is that's just something I had trouble fixing, and would love to get right in all honesty, it's not a design decision I'm promoting and defending, and doesn't purposefully dismiss core design principals. - but thanks for the heads up, been meaning to sort that out for a while, will get on the case!
Well, I also didn't dismiss your point because of it, just pointed it out.
One solution would not fiddle with the viewport and font resizing… The question is though, what do you have problem with? Looking through the code, I haven't notice anything that could give you any, but admittedly, I just skimmed through :)
Thanks Adam! I honestly can't remember what was causing me grief, but will take another look at the viewport stuff this weekend. I kind of did it on the coat tails of my website redesign and was semi burnt-out at the time to be honest!! Thanks again, and glad you enjoyed the post!
Good blog post.
More blog posts please David.
This is part of the reason putting too much clout in internet celebrities is a problem, not everything they say is groundbreaking wisdom.
